Disease & Pathogen Diagnostics
In collaboration with veterinary professionals, we provide detailed histopathological examination to identify and characterize bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections, emerging and notifiable pathogens, organ-specific pathology including gills, liver, digestive gland, and reproductive tissues, as well as co-infections and underlying contributing factors.
Custom Scoring Systems for Research & Trials
We work closely with researchers and veterinary partners to design and implement standardized histopathological scoring systems, tailored to specific study objectives. This includes lesion severity grading, treatment efficacy assessment, vaccine trial evaluation, and environmental or nutritional impact studies. Our scoring systems are developed to meet the rigor required for scientific publication, regulatory submission, or internal R&D benchmarking.

For ongoing aquaculture operations, we support veterinary-led health monitoring programs with regular histopathological screening, helping detect issues early and track population health over time.
Fish and Shellfish Pathology Partners
Dr. Ginevra Brocca is an ACVP‑boarded veterinary pathologist specialising in fish and shellfish diseases. She combines academic research with extensive diagnostic experience in aquatic animal health and has authored more than 20 peer‑reviewed publications.
After completing her DVM and PhD in comparative pathology at the University of Padua (Italy), she worked as a diagnostic fish pathologist at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island (Canada), gaining particular expertise in salmonid, halibut, wolffish, and oyster pathology. Now based in Scotland, she works as an independent consultant in fish and shellfish pathology and partners with HistoCompany to provide diagnostic expertise alongside their digital histology services.
