Use sufficient formalin: A ratio of at least 1:20 is required (one part tissue to 19 parts formalin).Fix promptly: Place the sample in formalin as soon as possible.
Label clearly: Clearly mark the containers with the date, tissue type, and a unique ID.
Note on Sample Quality: A high-quality result always begins with thorough preparation. Correct fixation is absolutely essential for us to provide high-quality analysis. Because formalin penetrates tissue at a limited rate of approximately 1 mm per hour, you must ensure there is ample fluid relative to the volume of the tissue so that the formalin is not "depleted" before the tissue is fully fixed.
Histo Company performs processing of submitted material as a technical service. Since correct fixation and pretreatment are critical to the final result, the sender bears full responsibility for sample quality. We therefore do not accept claims or complaints related to histological quality or diagnostic value if deficiencies are caused by fixation or handling prior to the sample's arrival at our laboratory.
